VIEW FROM THE TOP

Daniel Negreanu GPIDaniel Negreanu (GPI#1, -) makes it two straight weeks (9 of the past 10 weeks) at the top of the GPI300. Vanessa Selbst (GPI#2, -) returns at #2 and Ole Schemion (GPI#3, -) stays at #3. It’s important to note that all three lost points this week, it will be interesting to see what happens next.

Marvin Rettenmaier (GPI#4, -), Jason Mercier (GPI#5, -) and Mike McDonald (GPI#6, -) also retain their positions within the Top 10. Rettenmaier and Mercier begin a fifth straight week in their respective positions.

Shannon Shorr GPIShannon Shorr (GPI#7, +3) and Jonathan Duhamel (GPI#8, +3) each move up three spots this week. Shorr moves up to #7 in the World while Duhamel makes a return to the Top 10 at #8. Both players have their eyes set on besting their career best #5 rank in the coming weeks.

Benjamin Spindler GPIBenjamin Spindler (GPI#254, -93) drops the furthest down the ladder this week, moving down almost 100 spots to #254 in the world. IN-N-OUT

Alessandro Longobardi GPIAfter four weeks away, Italian pro Alessandro Longobardi (GPI#291) returns to the GPI300 this week. Longobardi earned a fourth place finish at IPT Sanremo that allowed him to return to the 300, where he spent 16 straight months ranked before falling outside last month.

Chad Eveslage (GPI#275 CB), Niall Farrell (GPI#281), Flavien Guenan (GPI#300) and Tony Cousineau, who spent last week on the GPI300 bubble at #301, are a few of the other players to enter the 300 this week. For Eveslage, it’s his first ever visit inside the 300.

Barry Greenstein GPIIt’s sad to see Barry Greenstein (GPI#305) leave the 300 for only the fourth week of his career on the GPI. Greenstein, who was part of our GPI Player of the Decade Final Table in December, has been a staple on the live tournament circuit for over 10 years.

Belgian pro Kenny Hallaert (GPI#303), recent Unibet Copenhagen winner Frederik Jensen (GPI#324) and 2013 WPT SHR Showdown Champion Kevin Eyster (GPI#349) all join Greenstein on the outside looking in this week.
