2014 PoY: Schindler Takes Another Step

American poker pro Jacob Schindler takes another step towards the top of the GPI Player of the Year Leaderboard…

SCHINDLER SHINES EARLY

Jacob Schindler GPIIt’s been a career best start to the 2014 poker season for Jacob Schindler (GPI#50) who finds himself in contention for the 2014 Global Poker Index Player of the Year, moving up yet another 16 spots this week to 6th overall as the second month of the season wrapped-up over the weekend.

Schindler finished 5th in the 5K Prelim event at the L.A. Poker Classic last week, an event won by fellow Pennsylvania pro Paul Volpe (GPI#9). He would also add to his 2014 points total earlier in the month of February when he finished 19th at the WSOP Circuit Main Event in West Palm Beach, Florida.

However, Schindler’s big score came really early in the season, at the 2014 PCA in the Bahamas where he won the High Roller event, defeating former WSOP Main Event champion Greg Merson heads-up for the title. Schindler collected $1,192,624 USD for his efforts, the first seven-figure score of his career on the live tournament circuit.

Here is a look at Schindler’s results so far this season:
