EPT Announces Another Mainstream Sponsor, Strassmann’s Body Contained Drugs
The EPT Welcomes Back SLYDE
The eleventh season of Europe’s premier poker tournament, the EPT, is now just a few weeks away and ahead of the centenary celebrations in Barcelona, the organisers have announced that SLYDE will once again be an official sponsor.
Having already established a successful relationship with the luxury watch maker in the past, the EPT and PokerStars will now work with SLYDE to provide another exclusive range of prizes during EPT11.
On top of other sponsors, including Skullcandy Headphones and Suesswaren Grasel, SLYDE will not only promote its brand to the community but help promote the EPT and poker to the mainstream masses.
Indeed, with a record number of mainstream partners now part of the latest incarnation of the EPT, this season could well help the game’s continued growth.
On top of sponsoring the EPT, SLYDE will also work with PokerStars’ other live festival, the APPT, and provide watches to the winners of the Macau Poker Cup and the 2014 Asian Poker Championship.
Drugs Found in Strassmann’s System
Following the recent news that German poker pro Johannes Strassmann was found dead in Slovenia, a police report has revealed that illegal drugs were found in his system.
Strassmann disappeared in the Slovenian town of Ljubljana on June 21st and after a police hunt his body was found floating in the local river.
According to a coroner’s report, Strassmann’s body contained traces of a hallucinogenic drug which was consumed just before his death.
Although police officers are currently refusing to name the drug, an eyewitness has told German newspaper Bild that Strassmann was seen taking magic mushrooms with a known drug dealer on the night of his death.
Speaking to a reporter, the bystander explained that Strassmann was with three local men and ran from the pub after consuming the drugs.
That was the last time Strassmann was seen alive; something which has led many to speculate that his death was a direct result of consuming the drug.
