EPT’s Berlin Finale Drawing Closer

With the final table drawing ever closer, Day 4 of EPT Berlin’s Main Event saw a host of pros hit the rail as Roman Herold climbed to the top of the chip counts, yesterday.

A successful session for the German pro saw him outlast the likes of Liv Boeree (48th – €15,000), Natalie Hoff (39th – €18,000) and Bryn Kenney (30th – €22,000) to move one step closer to the €880,000 top prize.

That positive run has continued into today’s session as the final group of 17 is slowly making its way towards a final table.

Indeed, with just 11 players remaining at the time of writing, Herold has managed to stick within the top three chip counts while more notable pros such as Kevin Stani (17th – €27,000) and Olivier Busquet (15th – €33,000) have hit the rail.

Today’s session will conclude when a final table of eight is reached, before tomorrow’s finale crowns a new EPT Berlin champion.

Impressive Turnout for EPT Berlin’s High Roller

Yesterday’s EPT Berlin was a hive of action thanks to the Main Event and €10,000 High Roller all taking place under one roof.

Indeed, while the final 55 in the Main Event were whittled down to just 17, an impressive 107 players were busy contesting the High Roller.

What started out as a trickle of 22 players soon turned into a flood, as many pros took advantage of the tournament’s late registration. By the time the cashiers’ desk closed a total of 140 entries had been collected (107 unique entries + 33 rebuys) which helped push the prizepool beyond the €1 million mark.

Leading the way when the session was brought to a close was Ronny Voth. Having enjoyed a brief stint as chip leader in the Main Event before being eliminated, Voth was able to collect 607,500 throughout the day.

That was enough to put him ahead of such pros as Scott Seiver, Griffin Benger, Davidi Kitai and Dominik Nitsche.

Day 2 is already underway and at the time of writing the 45 starters had already been cut to just 23. With payouts starting at 16th place, the ongoing action is likely to be fraught with tension.
