EPT London Recap, Selbst Joins the PartyPoker Premier League
Crunch Time at EPT London
After cutting the field from 109 to 87 the elimination floodgates were flung wide open as Day 3 of EPT London‘s Main Event drew closer to a conclusion. Indeed, after Gaelle Baumann claimed the first £9,080 prize a slew of pros followed her towards the cashiers’ desk, including: Matthew Frankland (71st – £10,255, Dan Smith (61st – £10,255), Craig McCorkell (50th – £11,425) and Sam Greenwood (46th – £11,425).
Following Greenwood’s exit the session was brought to a close and when the betting had stopped it was Martin Kozlov leading the way. After a rush of cards midway through the day Kozlov was able to bag and tag 1,315,000 chips and lead the surviving 45 into Day 4.
Today’s action kicked off earlier and with the blinds becoming ever more merciless a host of big name players have been forced out of their seats and onto the rail. Indeed, at the time of writing just 32 players remained and amongst the casualties ruing their luck was Timothy Adams, Joel Nordkvist and Ruben Velasco.
Today’s session will wrap up just a few places away from a final table which is set to take place on Saturday.

Selbst to Join the Premier League Party
The organisers behind PartyPoker’s Premier League announced the addition of another world-class player to their TV tournament yesterday. Having already lined up the likes of Tony G, Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari and Jeff Gross, PartyPoker will also be welcoming the world’s best female player: Vanessa Selbst.
Having first played the tournament back in 2011 Vanessa knows the quality of the event; indeed, such was the level of competition that she failed to make it through the preliminary rounds. However, with the $125,000 tournament now taking place in North America as part of the WPT’s festivities in Montreal, Vanessa is hoping the change of venue will help her chances of success.
Commenting on the tournament and the recent changes to its seventh incarnation, Vanessa said: “I had so much fun playing the Premier League in 2011 — it’s such a fun, innovative, and mentally-challenging structure. I’m excited it has come to North America and thrilled to be able to play it again, especially in a new short-handed format.”
The PartyPoker Premier League will kick off on November 20 and take place inside Canada’s Playground Poker Club before WPT Montreal kicks off on November 29.
