Finger is GPI Player of the Month, Timex second

A good run in Barcelona sees a German star scoop up Player of the Month honors …

Martin Finger GPI

Four results from the EPT Barcelona Festival allowed German pro Martin Finger (GPI#14) to pickup the GPI Player of the Month title for August 2015.

The former World #12 started his Barcelona journey in style with a High Roller victory, surviving the final day charge from UK duo Mark Teltscher (GPI#552) and Liv Boeree (GPI#233). Finger earns his first win on the circuit since April 2014, when he collected a pair of W’s during the EPT Sanremo Festival.

Finger would ride the hotstreak for the next five days, collecting three other results in that span. The former EPT Prague and WSOP bracelet winner would add his 6th and 7th Top 10 finishes of the season in that stretch. In addition to sitting at #14 on the GPI World Poker Rankings, Finger also moved into 14th position in the 2015 GPI PoY race.

Former World #5 Mike “Timex” McDonald (GPI#22) also seemed to have enjoyed his time in Barcelona. Just like Finger, the Canadian star collected four results during the Festival, including a 43rd place finish in the EPT Main Event. That result marked the 11th time the 2008 EPT Dortmund Champion has scored points in a EPT Main Event.
