FPM Lucky Hearts: Fantasy Hi-Five
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the annual WPT Lucky Heart Poker Open is back, this time calling the Seminole Casino in Coconut Creek, Florida home. Defending Champion Matt Giannetti is not in the lineup therefore the title is up for grabs … which US pro will take advantage and win big?
We take a look at five players to keep an eye on as Day 1B is currently underway in Florida:
JORDAN CRISTOS
Ok so adding the Day 1A chip leader sounds like a no brainer. It is, but, how many times does a early chip leader end up not making the money? Too many times if you ask any FPM Manager! The reason you want to add Jordan Cristos (GPI#150) isn’t just because he’s got chips, it’s that he’s coming off the best season of his career on the live tournament circuit, including his first major victory at the WPT Legends of Poker this past August. He followed that up with cashes in the Main Event at WSOP Europe and at the Borgata Fall Poker Open.
Ended Day 1A with 205,200 chips (unofficial)
MATT WAXMAN
Another WPT Champions Club member makes the list as former WPT Grand Prix de Paris winner Matt Waxman (GPI#60) also ended Day 1A play with a sizeable chip stack.
Waxman won the Rock ‘N Roll Poker Open at the Semionle Hard Rock in Hollywood in December and also cashed at the Isle Poker Classic in Pompano Park last month. He’ll be looking to continue the Florida hot streak here in Coconut Creek.
Ended Day 1A with 131,700 chips (unofficial)
FARID JATTIN
Planning on adding a player on a heat to your WPT Lucky Hearts squad? Look no further than Farid Jattin (GPI#940). Jattin, who started the season ranked #9075, has moved all the way up to 940th in the world following a pair of big scores to start the 2014 campaign.
Jattin won the Isle Poker Classic ($147,160 USD) to kickoff his season. He then final tabled the last World Poker Tour event, the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open, last week in Atlantic City.
Ended Day 1A with 48,400 chips (unofficial)
SHAWN CUNIX
How about yet another former WPT Champ to add to your team? Season X WPT Jacksonville bestbet Open winner Shawn Cunix (GPI#1645) is currently playing Day 1B and, as of press time, has a lot of chips in front of him.
An experienced played on the World Poker Tour, Cunix’ could be a great addition if you’re trying to save on your salary cap as Cunix’ FPM Market Price is low.
Currently involved in Day 1B action
CORRIE WUNSTEL
A named that has been appearing a lot at the top of chip stack reports is Corrie Wunstel (GPI#254), who has been very active on the US circuit for the past few months.
Wunstel’s most recent highlights include a final table finish at the WPT Jacksonville bestbet Fall Poker Scramble and a cash at the WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas to end the 2013 season.
Currently involved in Day 1B action
