GPI August Player of the Month: Blair Hinkle
Congratulations to Blair Hinkle who becomes the Global Poker Index Player of the Month for August:
REDEMPTION DAY
In February of 2011, Blair Hinkle was on top of the world – he had just won over 1M after taking down the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS). But then Black Friday hit just a few months later and the WSOP bracelet winner’s funds were no longer available to him.
Thankfully, despite some tough times at first, things are starting to look up for the young American. Signs of FTP funds being made available soon combined with success on the live tournament circuit in the past few months have all culminated in the biggest score of Hinkle’s career, a 1.7M USD windfall at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open and allowing him to collect 2013 GPI Player of the Month honours for the month of August.

STRONG 2013 CONTINUES
The victory at the Seminole Hard Rock was actually Hinkle’s second of the season. He scored a victory in the WSOP Circuit Council Bluffs Main Event earlier in the season. Hinkle has a total of eight cashes on the season including a fourth place finish in the $1,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Ante Only event this summer at the World Series of Poker.

Hinkle’s strong August performance has also allowed him to move up the ranks in the other GPI Races:
