GPI October Player of the Month: Shannon Shorr

Congratulations go out to Shannon Shorr (GPI#6) – Global Poker Index Player of the Month for October 2013:

DEEP RUNS IN LONDON, ENGHIEN-LES-BAINS

Shannon Shorr GPIShannon Shorr’s October certainly got off to a good start when he ran deep in the Main Event at EPT London where he would finish 28th out of 604 runners. But Shorr wasn’t done in London just yet; he also placed sixth in the 1K 8-Handed side event just a few days after cashing in the Main.

Shorr would then move onto Enghien-les-Bains to participate in WSOP Europe. He would kick things off in Event #2, finishing fifth in the 5K NLH Mixed Max Event. The Alabama native would then move onto final table the Main Event at WSOP Europe, finishing in eighth position.

Shorr’s November is already off to a roaring start as he final tabled a prelim event at the Master Classics of Poker currently being held in Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

WSOPE CHAMP RUNNER-UP

World Series of Poker Europe Main Event Champion Adrian Mateos Diaz (GPI#131) was second only to Shorr in October. The young Spaniard certainly enjoyed his breakout moment with his bracelet victory in Enghien-les-Bains but, like Shorr, his October started off with two scores at EPT London.

Diaz, who started off 2013 by winning the Estrellas Poker Tour Madrid Main Event, holds seven Top 10 finishes so far in 2013 … and he’s still a few years away from being to play big tournaments in America!
