THE LONE EUROPEAN

ElkY GPIBertrand Grospellier, who chimes in at #6, is the first of three non-Americans and the only European to make the Player of the Decade list.

After two quiet years to start his career , ElkY has been no stranger to the winners circle in the seven years following his debut on the live tournament circuit in 2005. In fact, 2013 marked the first time in six years that the French legend hadn’t won on tour. Despite the lack of victories, ElkY still managed to earn 11 cashes, five of those Top 10 finishes, and move past the 10M USD career mark in earnings.

ElkY’S HIGHLIGHT REEL

ElkY GPIThe first PokerStars pro to make the list, ElkY broke onto the scene in 2008 and has never looked back since. ElkY started that season winning the PCA for 2M USD … months later, ElkY would enter the Champions Club winning the Festa Al Lago Classic at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, adding over 1.4M USD to his 2008 totals, his best season on tour. Three years later, Grospellier would win his first WSOP bracelet in the 10K Seven Card Stud Championship and, with that victory, would join poker’s elusive Triple Crown Club.

ElkY is one of only five players to ever top the GPI300 rankings. ElkY has spent 18 weeks in his career as GPI#1, most recently in October of 2012.
