GPI Tournament Report: MSPT, WPT, HPT, WSOPC, Marrakech + More

WPT LUCKY HEARTS

James Calderaro GPIEarlier last week, James Calderaro (GPI#1451) finally won on the World Poker Tour, following a few close calls on the WPT circuit. Calderaro won the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open at the Seminole Casino in Coconut Creek, Florida.

Calderaro got the best of Shannon Shorr (GPI#16) heads-up to win the title. Keven Stammen (GPI#97) finished third in the event.

HEARTLAND COLORADO

Dan Heimiller GPIDoug Milner is the latest winner on the Heartland Poker Tour. Milner took down the HPT Colorado event at the Golden Gates Casino in Black Hawk. The event prize pool crossed the 1M USD mark for the sixth straight time in Colorado.

WSOP bracelet winner Dan Heimiller (GPI#174) was the second player out at the final table, he takes home a little over 25K USD for his second place finish.

WSOP CIRCUIT PALM BEACH

WSOPC logoRuslan Dykshteyn (GPI#3030) got the best of Vincent Maglio (GPI#1134) heads-up to win the Championship ring at WSOP Circuit Palm Beach in Florida.

Joseph McKeehan (GPI#304) and George Lampert (GPI#399), who both currently sit near the GPI300 bubble, both final tabled the event here at the Kennel Club.

MSPT RUNNING ACES

Blake Bohn GPIMark Sandness (GPI#1716) got the best of fellow Minnesotan Blake Bohn (GPI#316) heads-up to win the Mid-States Poker Tour event at the Running Aces Harness Park in Columbus, Minnesota.

Sandness collects his second win of 2014. He won The Great Minnesota Freezeout just a few weeks ago at the Canterbury Park Card Club in Shakopee, Minnesota.

WPT NATIONAL VEJLE

WPTN logoOver in Denkark, Mette Louise Christiansen got the best of Tina Christensen in an all-female heads-up affair at WPT National Vejle.

The event, which was played inside Casino Munkebjerg Vejle, totalled 260 entries and created a 2.24M DKK prize pool.

CARD PLAYER TOUR FOXWOODS

Chris Tryba GPIRon Pease (GPI#24100) won the Card Player Poker Tour Main Event at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut on Monday, defeating WSOP bracelet winner Chris Tryba (GPI#612) heads-up for the title after the two players agreed to a deal.

Fellow Americans Anthony Ruberto (GPI#2349) and Bradley St. Vincent (GPI#3099) would also final table the event.

GENTING STAR CITY

GPS logoGPI300 member and former WPT National Dublin winner Simon Deadman (GPI#209) carried the play but was unable to secure the victory during Leg 1 Genting Poker Series action in Birmingham.

Deadman would finish second to Faisal Shabbir (GPI#72577), who picks up the first big win of his poker career.

MARRAKECH OPEN

Marrekech OpenOlivier Paris (GPI#788) has won the 31st Marrakech Poker Open in beautiful Morocco. Paris picked up the victory over Belgian Bart Lybaert (GPI#1437).

Former Marrakech Open Champion Ricardo Manquant (GPI#718) would finish fourth in the event.

POKEROPOLY CUP

Marco Fabbrini GPIThe Pokeropoly Cup was played over the weekend at the Casino di Venezia and on Monday, Marco Fabbrini (GPI#12381), a former IPT Sanremo final table participant, won the event.

Fellow Italians Raffaele Francese (GPI#14109) and Paolo Petrucci (GPI#5880) would finish second and third in the event.
