One week after reaching at #1 for the first time in 2015, Dan Smith (GPI#1, =) retains his World #1 status this week. Smith is one of 19 ersers who returned to the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino earlier today to play Day 4 of the $50,000 Poker Players’ Championship.

While Smith was able to retain the #1 rank, there was a shakeup awaiting the remaining members of this week’s Top 10, starting at #2 where Byron Kaverman (GPI#2, +8) sits for the very first time of his career.

Kaverman collected his very first bracelet victory over the weekend at the World Series of Poker, winning the No-Limit Hold’em Six Handed Championship, defeating Doug Polk (GPI#70, +55) for the title.

Stephen Chidwick (GPI#3, +4) also reached a career-high this week, reaching World #3 following his runner-up finish to Max Pescatori (GPI#112, +99) in the Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split-8 or Better Championship at the WSOP. This is Chidwick’s fourth score of the Series.

Ole Schemion (GPI#5, -2) and Davidi Kitai (GPI#10, -4), who each have been mainstays at or near the top of the GPI World Poker Rankings for months, each fall in the standings for a second consecutive. While Schemion has yet to arrive in Las Vegas to play the WSOP, Kitai has been unable to cash in any events so far this summer.
