GPI300: Drinan, Seidel, Winter enter Top 10
O’Dwyer starting to settle in at the top while a trio enter the Top 10 – one of which for the very first time …
8 IN A ROW FOR STEVE O’
Congratulations go out to Steve O’Dwyer (GPI#1, =), who enters his eighth straight week ranked atop the GPI World Poker Rankings.
April and May will be challenging months for O’Dwyer. Not only will scores from the EPT Grand Final and other tournaments from 12 months ago enter a third aging period, but October and November scores from the WSOPE, EPT Malta and the ACOP will enter a second aging period. The good news? O’Dwyer has so many scores in the past 12 months that some of those scores that currently do not count for any points will come handy during this upcoming period.
Connor Drinan (GPI#8, +4) and Erik Seidel (GPI#9, +8) both make a return to the GPI Top 10. Meanwhile, it’s a Top 10 debut for Florida pro Sean Winter (GPI#10, +5). Winter has been climbing the charts for a while now. He has been a member of the GPI300 since July 2014.
Dropping out of the GPI300 this week is superstar Daniel Colman (GPI#311, -82), dropping out of the Top 300 for the first time since June 2014. The 2014 WSOP Big One for One Drop Champion hasn’t been playing a lot on the live tournament circuit, explaining his drop from the top group.
On the flip side, a total of 12 players enter the GPI300 this week. Congratulations go out to Salvatore Dicarlo (GPI#294) and recent EPT Dublin 19th place finisher Scott Margereson (GPI#300), who each enter the Top 300 for the very first time of their careers.
