GPI300: King Dan reclaims his thrown
It’s a return to #1 for King Dan + the WPT Player of the Year makes his way into the Top 10 …

It’s good to be king as former World #1 Dan Smith (GPI#1, +2) makes a return to the top of the GPI World Poker Rankings for the first time in 2015.
Smith’s pair of cashes this past week at the World Series of Poker, including a third place finish in the 2-7 Draw Lowball No-Limit Championship, sees him back at #1 for the first time since matching a then record 17-straight weeks atop the rankings last December.
Smith’s rise means Ole Schemion (GPI#3, -2) falls, dropping two spots to #3. Schemion, who has not scored any points since finishing 6th at the EPT Grand Final last month in Monte Carlo, is spending his second week ranked outside the Top 2 in 2015.
A pair of WSOP final tables has pushed reigning WPT Player of the Year Anthony Zinno (GPI#9, +14) into the GPI World Top 10 for the very first time of his career. Zinno followed up a 6th place finish in the Omaha Hi-Low Split 8 or Better Championship with a 7th place score in WSOP Event #25 – $5,000 N0-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed.
Finally, congratulations go out to 2014 WSOP November Niner Jorryt van Hoof (GPI#288, +198) on entering the GPI300 for the very first time … Pittsburgh pro Jack Schnabacher (GPI#300, +93) does the same, earning the very last spot on the 300 this week.
