After sitting at #1 for 10 consecutive weeks, Jason Mercier (GPI#2, -1) is no longer #1 on the GPI World Poker Rankings as Byron Kaverman (GPI#1, +1) reaches the top for the very first time of his poker career.

Despite not having scored points since earning a trio of results last month at the EPT Barcelona Festival, Kaverman was able to add over 200 points this week, on the strength of his consistent play over the past few years. Kaverman’s lead is a very small one at the moment.

One week after dropping from the Top 10 for the first time in 2015, Bryn Kenney (GPI#10, +1) is right back in this week, replacing former World #2 Davidi Kitai (GPI#19, -9) at #10.

A pair of former top-ranked pros drop out of the GPI300 this week as Fabrice Soulier (GPI#304), who was ranked #4 in the very first edition of the GPI World Poker Rankings back in 2011, and former World #2 Philipp Gruissem are out this week. Gruissem is ranked outside the Top 300 for the first time of his career.
