VIEW FROM THE TOP

Daniel Negreanu GPIDaniel Negreanu (GPI#1, -) and Ole Schemion (GPI#2, -) have shared the top 2 spots on the GPI300 since the start of the 2014 poker season. Kid Poker begins his sixth week atop 300.

Vanessa Selbst (GPI#3 CB, +4) is still reaping the benefits of a strong December and January where she earned over 1.6M USD with a total of five cashes between EPT Prague and the 2014 PCA. Selbst matches her career-best ranking on the GPI this week at #3. With big tournaments coming in the next few months, look for Selbst to push for the top!

Sorel Mizzi GPIFormer World #3 Sorel Mizzi (GPI#10, +6) finally makes a return to the GPI Top 10. Mizzi moves into the Top 10 for the first time since September 2012. Mizzi finished second to fellow Canadian pro Ami Barer (GPI#93) last month at the Aussie Millions Poker Championship Main Event.

Mizzi’s return to the GPI Top 10 is at the expense of Paul Volpe (GPI#15, -7) who’s big back-to-back scores one year ago at the WPT L.A. Poker Classic and the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star continue to lose value.

Andrea Dato GPIThird time’s a charm for Andrea Dato (GPI#144, +136) who’s our biggest mover this week. After final tabling WPT Venice twice, Dato was finally able to capture the title over the weekend at the Gioco Digitale WPT Venice Carnival.

WPT Champions Club member Benjamin Hamnett (GPI#145, +101), WPT One to Watch Athanasios Polychronopoulos (GPI#164, +80), recent GUKPT Champ Rhys Jones (GPI#176 CB, +93) and Bay 101 prelim event winner Ronit Chamani (GPI#215 CB, +72) all climb up the charts this week.

Victor Ramdin GPIThe news isn’t as good for PokerStars Team Pro Victor Ramdin (GPI#224, -72) who takes the biggest step back within the Top 300 this week. Ramdin enjoyed some success at the PCA to start the season but he’s been quiet ever since.

Fomer PCA Champ John Dibella (GPI#227, -54), recent WPT Borgara Poker Open winner Anthony Zinno (GPI#126, -36) and Finnish poker legend Juha Helppi (GPI#184, -47) also lose ground within the GPI300 this week.

IN-N-OUT

Isaac Baron GPIIsaac Baron’s (GPI#175, +127) stay outside the GPI300 was a very short one. Baron, who fell outside the 300 for the first time since early in 2014 last week, is right back in, moving up over 125 positions following his deep run at the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star in San Jose.

Double WPT runner-up Dylan Wilkerson (GPI#127), reigning WSOP World Champion Ryan Riess (GPI#294) and Benjamin Zamani (GPI#280), who will be involved in final table play at WPT Rolling Thunder later today, are just a few of the players to enter the 300 this week.

Kevin Vandersmissen GPITeam Ivey’s Kevin Vandersmissen (GPI#302) is ranked outside the GPI300 this week. This is the first time since last May that the Belgian pro finds himself on the outside looking in.

Thomas Marchese (GPI#305), Kevin Eyster (GPI#308), WPT Commentator and Hall of Famer Mike Sexton (GPI#313) and former WPT Venice runner-up Alessandro Longobardi (GPI#330)
