Razavi Takes Grosvenor 25/25 Title
Grosvenor Poker’s latest 25/25 event came to a conclusion on Sunday and the man standing victories at the close of play was Sam Razavi.
Despite enjoying the bulk of his circuit success in Asia, England’s Razavi was able to come out on top in his homeland yesterday after besting 264 runners inside Portsmouth’s G Casino.
Although the tournament had a relatively fast structure, it would take until 3am before Razavi was able to cut a deal with his heads-up opponent Manuel Bardon.
Having stretched the tournament clock to its limit, both Razavi and Bardon agreed to chop up the remaining prizepool, leaving just enough aside for the final showdown to be interesting.
When it finally came to deciding the overall winner, Razavi eventually clinched the Grosvenor 25/25 title when he turned a straight to overcome Bardon’s top pair.
With that Razavi banked more than £14,000 as well as another trophy to add to his glittering collection.
Following the conclusion of another 25/25 event, Grosvenor Poker will now be travelling to Manchester for the second leg of its GUKPT season. Commanding a buy-in of £1,000 and featuring a £200,000 guaranteed prizepool the tournament is expected to a host of national talent.

Spencer Wins Sky Poker UKPC
The inaugural Sky Poker UK Poker Championships came to a conclusion last night after Alex Spencer bested a tough field to claim the £125,000 top prize.
The 20-year-old student from Doncaster’s managed to carry the chip lead into the final table and hold his nerve whilst those around him lost theirs.
Indeed, despite Chaz Chattha and Deborah O’Connell (who qualified for just £1), putting up strong fights into the dying stages of the event, Alex stayed strong throughout.
Despite James Rimmer enjoying a brief spell in charge of proceedings, Spencer was able to regain control and take out his rival with just four players left.
At this point Paul Delaney fell victim to Spencer before Danny Blair made an effort to stop the Spencer steamroller.
The final hand saw Blair move all-in for a handful of chips and receive an instant call from Spencer. When the hands were revealed it was Blair in the lead with pocket queens over Spencer’s K-3; however, as the board ran out: K-T-5-K-6 the pot was pushed towards a jubilant Spencer who was able to celebrate his first live title, a prize package to the WSOP and £125,000.
