March 14, 2018 World Poker Rankings

THIS WEEK’S NOTEBOOK

›› World #1 Adrian Mateos has entered the Top 10 for most total weeks (16) ranked #1 on the GPI. Next up for the Spanish star? Pushing by former World #1’s ElkY and Marvin Rettenmaier, who were each ranked #1 for 18 total weeks

›› Two-time WPTDeepStacks winner Ioannis Angelou-Konstas (World #150) of Greece moves up over spots in the rankings this week, now sitting at a career-best #150 in the world

›› Congratulations go out to Canada’s Duff Charette (World #282) and American Stephen Song (World #300), who each make their GPI300 debuts this week

›› We bid farewell to Faraz Jaka (World #306), who drops out of the GPI300 for the very first in GPI history. Jaka, who spends a little less time on the circuit these days, was ranked inside the 300 since the GPI released its first ever rankings on June 27, 2011

›› 2018 GPI PoY: Always a PoY contender, Canadian Ari Engel (World #5) moves up three spots in the PoY race after winning his 9th WSOP Circuit ring in Los Angeles
