Darryll Fish

Darryll Fish collected his first live tournament paycheck in 2007. In his first 4 years as a professional poker player, he cashed 36 times, made the money in 14 WSOP events, made 13 final tables, and earned over $600,000. During that time he was also a successful online player, earning over $1.6 million.

Born in Fort Myers, Florida on February 17, 1986, Darryll started playing the card game Magic the Gathering in 2001 after heart surgery. After playing Magic semi-professionally, he and his friends discovered poker in 2003 during the “Moneymaker Boom.” His online tournament record was impressive: he won a Full Tilt $1,000 Monday for $81,000; took down a PokerStars $1,000 Tuesday for $87,000; and earned over $200,000 when he won the 2009 WCOOP Event #33.

In 2007 at the WSOP Circuit event at Harrah\’s New Orleans, Darryll made his first live event cash when he finished 7th for $10,592 in the $500 NLHE event. His other cash that year was at the IP Poker Classic.

Darryll cashed 5 times in 2008, and won the $950 PLO event at the Binion\’s Poker Classic in Las Vegas for $25,000.  In 2009, he cashed 11 times and made the money in 7 WSOP events, with his best finish being 9th for $77,136 in the $10,000 PLHE World Championship. Of Darryl’s 9 cashes in 2010, he cashed twice at the WSOP, made a pair of final table appearances, and cashed for the first time in a WPT event. His best finish for the year was 3rd to collect $22,814 in the $2,000 NLHE at the Southern Poker Championship in Biloxi.

To start 2011, Darryll made it to 3 final tables in consecutive cashes. He finished 8th in the $2,200 NLHE for $8,112 at the Isle Classic and 6th in a Battle at the Beach event, both in Pompano Beach. In between those tournaments, he collected his biggest paycheck to that point in his career, $235,350 for his 6th place finish in the $10,000 NLHE WPT Championship Event at the L.A. Poker Classic.

At the 2011 WSOP, Darryll cashed 4 times. Two months after the WSOP, in his home state of Florida, Darryll made the final table at the Summer Splash WPT Regional event in Hollywood, finishing 4th in the $2,000 NLHE Championship Event to take home $55,522.

For fun, Darryll says he enjoys going to the gym, eating good food, hanging out with friends, traveling, and a playing little poker here and there. As far as his future plans, he hopes someday to use the money he has earned playing poker to open a restaurant or bar, and travel the world.
