BIO

Using the world of online poker satellite qualifiers, Marc Inizan has been able to parlay those online efforts into an excellent career in the live poker world.

Born on July 16, 1986 in Quimper, France and now calling London, the United Kingdom, home, Marc got his start in poker in 2006 through the online version of the game. “I started playing freerolls like everyone else, but I was having difficulties because I was working at the same time as I was playing,” Inizan remembered in his personal bio. “I would allow myself to deposit €20 or €30 here and there and, through playing Sit and Gos, was able to improve my skills.” That development led him to become a dominant online SNG player and led to his first online satellite win to a major event.

“In 2007, I managed to qualify online for the World Poker Tour Canada event in Fallsview,” Marc continued. “It was a tremendous experience and I finished in 24th place for $51,000.” Between 2008 and 2010, Inizan would continue to qualify for several major tournaments, including three trips to the Aussie Millions, two journeys to the World Series of Poker Championship Event and various other major tournament events. Using the name “LocStaOnFire” over a multitude of online rooms, Marc is actually credited with slightly more than $40,000 in online tournament poker earnings but, when added together with his satellite wins and SNG results, Inizan estimates he has earned “about $375,000” from his online career.

On the live tournament scene, Marc has had a significant impact. In 2009, Inizan would cash at the second ever WPT Venice tournament and, in 2010, would make his first major tournament statement on the European Poker Tour. At the EPT Berlin in 2010, Marc would finish the tournament in third place for his largest tournament score to date of €350,000 ($474,750). He would also drive deep in the 2010 WSOP Europe, finishing at the final table in ninth place for another €69,754 score.

Fully immersing himself in the live tournament poker world in 2011, Inizan has seen steady successful results. He has cashed in seven European tournaments, including the WPT Vienna for a second time, with two final tables among the finishes. At the 2011 WSOP, Inizan has also been in the mix, finishing in 25th place in the $5000 NLHE Shootout event in June.

Although he lacks a major tournament championship on his poker resume, Inizan’s consistency over the past few years has been impressive. He has eight final tables and nineteen cashes since his first foray to the live tournament world in 2007, garnering him $857,661 in career earnings. Marc has been able to parlay his successful live and online play into a sponsorship with Winamax Poker.

A graduate of the Universite de Bretagne Sud in 2006, Marc uses a highly mathematical background as a base for play. Apparently his approach to the game is, for him, the correct one and we should see Marc Inizan make further inroads into the game over the near future.
