PokerStars ACC Deal Dead, Bebb-Jones Sentenced, Improve Your Mental Game

PokerStars New Jersey Casino Deal Abandoned

Over the last 24 hours it’s transpired that PokerStars attempt to purchase the Atlantic Club Casino has failed.

Having agreed a conditional $50 million deal back in December 2012, the deal will no longer go ahead because the terms of the initial contract weren’t agreed upon in time.

Indeed, the deadline for meeting the terms and conditions was April 26, but since that deadline has passed it’s been stated that neither party will be pursuing the matter further.

While there has been no official comment from PokerStars, Michael Frawley, the COO of the Atlantic Club Casino, spoke to New Jersey reporter John Brennan and said: “The purchase agreement with PokerStars has been terminated”.

He went on to say that they remain “committed to the aggressive pursuit of the opportunities presented by online gambling”.

The breakdown now leaves PokerStars without a clear route back into the US online market.

Indeed, with the American Gaming Association using its influence to lobby against their latest attempt, it could be a while before they find another chance to offer real money games to US players.

Bebb-Jones Gets 20 Years

In an update to yesterday’s story about British poker pro Marcus Bebb-Jones, it’s recently been announced that he will face 20 years in prison.

Following a court hearing yesterday, Bebb-Jones entered a plea bargain that would see him receive no more than 20 years behind bars.

After assessing the evidence and taking into consideration Bebb-Jones’ plea, the judge presiding over the case decided to accept the terms.

Bebb-Jones was subsequently charged with second degree murder and was told he will face two decades behind bars (minus the time he’s already served whilst awaiting trial).

Learn to Improve Your GPI Score

If you want to become a better poker player then you need to make sure you have the right mental approach to the game.

Indeed, while learning to 3-bet in the correct spots will have a direct influence on your profit at the table, the way you think about poker will help improve your overall profits in the game.

In the last 24 hours, mental game expert Jared Tendler has released an interview with Primoz Bozic to help with this very matter.

Known to many as “Schnitzelfisch”, Bozic spoke with Jared about the virtues of productivity in your approach to becoming a better poker player.

Fused with Jared’s own theories on learning and poker, the interview is great for anyone who is looking forward to the WSOP or wants to improve their GPI score.

Indeed, if there’s one thing that separates the top GPI players such as Paul Volpe and Marvin Rettenmaier from the rest of the poker world, it’s their ability to think clearly whilst at the table.
