PokerStars LIVE Opens in Madrid
PokerStars’ first European live venture has recently opened its doors in Madrid, Spain.
After undergoing a complete transformation, Gran Casino Madrid’s poker room is now a stylish fusion of PokerStars branding and contemporary poker equipment.
The opening of the room has been kept relatively quiet by PokerStars; however, the inaugural tournament reportedly welcomed a host of local celebrities and Spanish football players.
PokerStars LIVE Madrid, is the first of the company’s trio of live card rooms across Europe and North America.
Indeed, next month will see their London-based venue open its doors, before they finally acquire the license for New Jersey’s Atlantic Club Casino.

Anonymous Tournament Heading to London
The Bodog Network’s intriguing Anonymous Poker Series is coming to London according to a recent announcement.
However, in line with the tour’s overall concept, the venue, structure and details of how to register won’t be revealed until March 4th.
One piece of information that has been released, though, is the date of the tournament: March 12th.
Offering seats to players on a first come, first serve basis, the event will give the eventual winner a seat in the tour’s $100,000 Grand Final in Manila.
The idea for the Anonymous Series stemmed from the Bodog Network’s decision to make all their tables anonymous a year ago.
A mixture of live and online events will be played out during 2013, with each tournament winner earning an all-expenses trip to Manila in January 2014.
Schemion Becomes the GPI PoM
The GPI has further augmented its overall ranking system, recently, with the addition of a “Player of the Month” award.
Each month the top performing player will get their name etched into the GPI record books and earn bragging rights amongst their peers.
To mark each occasion we will be brining you exclusive interviews with the winners and get their thoughts on what it takes to become one of the best players in the world.
Already in 2013 we’ve crowned our first GPI PoM: Ole Schemion. The German racked up a number of ranking points, as well as $450,457 in live winnings, in January.
