Tristan Wade wins WPTDeepStacks PoY

Tristan Wade GPICongratulations go out to Tristan Wade (GPI#258), winner of the 2015 WPTDeepStacks Player of the Year race, powered by the Global Poker Index.

Wade’s journey to WPTDS PoY started in his home state of Florida, where he would finish 25th at WPTDS Hollywood event at the Seminole Hard Rock.

A trip up north would see Wade add points in Edmonton followed by a 5th place finish in the Iowa event.

After spending the summer playing the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, the 2011 WSOP gold bracelet winner would pickup a pair of coast-to-coast Top 15 finishes in Immokalee and San Diego, followed by a 23rd place finish in the Northern California event in Redding.

A return to the Great White North – this time at the Tour Championship in Calgary – would see Wade pickup just enough points to force his nearest competitor, Rex Clinkscales (GPI#397), to have to win the Tour Championship outright in order for him to take the title away from Wade.

Clikscales gave it the old college try but would surrender the PoY title to Wade following his exit in 14th place.

Wade, already a WPTDeepStacks Ambassador, announced to Clinkscales that he would be giving the WPTDS PoY Sponsorship Package to him, acknowledging the heated race between the two individuals.

Congratulations to both men – see you both at the WPTDS kickoff event in sunny Los Angeles!
