UKIPT Dublin Begins Tomorrow, Lovgren Speaks, Play Against Kara Scott

Poker Stars Heading for Dublin

UKIPT Dublin gets underway tomorrow and ahead of the Main Event on Thursday a number of PokerStars top pros are making their way to the Irish capital.

With Ireland known for providing one of the best live poker experiences in the world, a slew of stars including Jake Cody and Liv Boeree will be looking to sample the craic when the chips start to fly.

In a tweet last night Jake announced that he was “Flying to Dublin tomorrow” and almost immediately his poker pals, Sam Grafton and Toby Lewis, responded with their seals of approval.

This season’s Main Event will have two starting days and for a buy-in of €700+€70 the organisers have guaranteed a prizepool of at least €350,000.

In total the Main Event can accommodate 600 players and if things go to plan then the organisers expect to reach that figure when registration closes on Friday.

Beyond the Main Event, UKIPT Dublin will feature a host of smaller tournaments as well as a €2,000+€200 High Roller which will take place on Saturday.

For those looking to recoup their tournament buy-ins at the cash tables, UKIPT has managed to partner with Dublin’s Sporting Emporium Casino to offer a separate venue for ring games with varying price points.

Lovgren Looking to the Future

PKR pro Sofia Lovgren recently spoke to PokerFaceNews about her life on and off the poker table and it seems that her biggest fear isn’t sharks but mice.

During the interview Sofia explained that she’s “terrified” of rodents and that a trip to see her boyfriend, Luca Moschittam, during an EPT High Roller almost cost her almost £12,000 in equity.

Fortunately she was able to get back in time to save her stack and cash in 16th place; a result she is now looking to parlay into her first live win.

When asked what she’d like to see happen in the poker world, Sofia said aside from online poker being “available to everyone” it would be nice to see a Swedish woman win the WSOP Main Event.
