WPTN Brussels: Pick Davidi Kitai

FPM logoNOTE: This article has been released during Day 1A play of  WPT National Series Brussels.  Please be sure to verify following the end of Day 1 play that this player has qualified for Day 2.  UPDATE: Kitai has made Day 2 play with approx. 14K in chips.

We began our GPI FPM WPT National Brussels preview with a look at Timothy Reilly (GPI: 278), an American who now makes Amsterdam his home, visiting Brussels to win a big tournament.

In this report, we turn our attention to a local legend, Triple Crown winner Davidi Kitai (GPI: 61).  The Belgian pro will have the weight of the world on his shoulders this weekend in Brussels.

The man from Brussels is also the official ambassador for this tournament so this will certainly add to his stress level.  However, I like to see it differently.  I believe that all of these factors will serve as motivation for the recent EPT Berlin Champion.

Kitai is known around the world as one of the best in the game, his strong 2012 season including six Top 10 finishes, including two victories, and he had a successful run recently at EPT Deauville finishing sixth in the France Poker Series High Rollers event and 11th in the EPT Deauville High Rollers.

If Kitbul isn’t already part of your team, it may be a challenge trying to fit him in.  Carrying a price tag north of 320,000, Kitai will take almost 1/3 of your 1M cap so may have to be creative.  The good news is that this tournament will more than likely have a lot of players available at a fair price once Day 2 play is set.

However, if your strategy is to release players each tournament and start off fresh then Kitai may be exactly the type of player you would want on your team.

Kitai seems primed to take this title down.  One thing is for sure, all of Belgium will be cheering on their Triple Crown winner!

Davidi Kitai (BEL) | GPI #61 | FPM 321,310
Best WPT National Brussels Result: Never cashed
Career WSOP, WPT, EPT: 3 wins, 24 cashes,  $2,613,858

Why should I add Kitai to my team?
> Home-field advantage
> Solid results on all tours (long-term)
> Can handle the pressure
