WSOP Event 35: Yoon Leads Final Four

The $5K NLHE Eight-Handed event started on Monday with 550 players and a $2,585,000 prize pool. Day 2 thinned the field from 170 players into the money so the top 56 could be paid.

Day 2 brought back 23 players and eliminated names like Olivier Busquet, Jeff Madsen, Sam Stein, and Sam Trickett. The final table started after Nick Grippo exited in ninth place for $42,755, and Brian Yoon was in the chip lead.

Tony Cousineau and Dan Smith were among the players exiting the final table before dinner. At that point in the night, only four players remained with Yoon still leading and Josh Arieh in second.

WSOP Event 36: Wolansky Wins

The $1,500 No Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball tournament attracted 241 players for a $325,350 prize pool. Day 2 took the field from 38 players, into the money at 28 players, and on to the final table. Play continued until only six players remained.

Day 3 saw Steven Wolansky simply crush the final table, starting in the lead and making a comeback during heads-up against Joseph Cheong.

1st place: Steven Wolansky ($89,483)

2nd place: Joseph Cheong ($55,309)

3rd place: Max Kruse ($36,494)

4th place: Christopher Mecklin ($24,908)

5th place: Orjan Skommo ($17,445)

6th place: Samuel Touil ($12,529)

7th place: Scott Bohlman ($9,223)

8th place: Adam Crawford ($6,955)

WSOP Event 37: Still 27 Remaining

The $1,500 PLO was quite the popular event, garnering a field of 967 players and prize pool of $1,305,450.

Day 2 brought back 113 players, all of whom were in the money, and play moved on until just 27 remained at the dinner break. AP Phahurat, Kevin Saul, Erick Lindgren, and Galen Hall were all in the top 10.

WSOP Event 38: Dinner with 24 Left

The $10K Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Championship started with 134 players and a $1,259,600 prize pool.

Day 2 began with 75 players. Only the top 16 were going to be paid, and there were still 24 in action at the dinner break. George Danzer was still in the chip lead, as he was starting the day, and players like Richard Sklar, David Singer, Jeff Lisandro, and Todd Brunson were in the top 10.

WSOP Event 39: Big New Field

The only new tournament on Wednesday was the $3K NLHE event, which drew a field of 992 players for a prize pool of $2,708,160. The top 117 players were to be paid with $548,460 set aside for the winner.
