2014 GPI PoY: Scott Seiver takes the lead following Barcelona
A pair of Barcelona scores see Scott Seiver take the PoY lead…
SEIVER SEIZES THE LEAD
Great Scott! GPI February Player of the Month Scott Seiver (GPI#4) has taken over the Player of the Year race, moving to the top following a successful trip to Barcelona.
Seiver collected two cashes at EPT Barcelona, cashing in the Main Event coming off the heels of a final table finish in Super High Roller event, leaving Spain with over €375,000 in his pockets.
His 2014 season includes 11 qualifying cashes so far, including a win in a side event at the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo. Eight of his cashes have been Top 10 finishes.
The former WPT World Champion has earned over $13M on the live tournament circuit, over $4M in 2014 alone.
Here is a look at Seiver’s 2014 PoY results:

STAMMDOGG ABOUT TO MOVE BACK UP
Keven Stammen (GPI#17), who had dominated the GPI Player of the Year race for a few consecutive months earlier this season, took a tumble falling five spots to #7 in this week’s PoY rankings update.
But things are about to take a turn for the better for Stammen. His 8th place finish at the WPT Legends of Poker in Los Angles on Thursday will see him add enough points that should push him right back into the mix near the top of the standings.
A side event victory at EPT Barcelona sees Dan Smith, who also moves back to #1 in the GPI World Poker Rankings this week, get to second on the PoY charts.
Davidi Kitai (GPI#9), Martin Jacobson (GPI#11) and Griffin Benger (GPI#71) all enter the PoY Top 25 this week.
