Samuel Chartier wins big in Montreal as the PokerStars Canada Cup kicks off at the Playground Poker Club…

CHARTIER EARNS THIRD CAREER WIN

 

Montreal pro Samuel Chartier (GPI#380) took advantage of playing on home turf on Thursday. The Canadian took home $122,050 CAD, defeating Ami Alibay (GPI#1265) heads-up in the High Roller event at the PokerStars Canada Cup in Montreal.

2010 WSOP World Champion Jonathan Duhamel (GPI#11), New Zealand poker prodigy David Yan (GPI#54) and WSOP bracelet winner Timothy Adams (GPI#229) all cashed in the event.

A total of 34 players entered the event which created a $329,800 CAD prize pool. The $3,300 CAD buy-in Main Event also kicked off yesterday. Day 1A attracted a total of 129 players. Day 1B kicks off later today at the Playground Poker Club.
