Coren Mitchell, Schemion Highlight Final Day at EPT Sanremo

It was Victoria Coren Mitchell and Ole Schemion’s time to shine as EPT Sanremo came to an end on Sunday … as the EPT Grand Final looms…

QUEEN VICTORIA FIRST TO TWO

EPT logoShe came into the day with the smallest chip stack but she leaves Sanremo as the first ever two-time winner on the European Poker Tour. Victoria Coren Mitchell (GPI#2124) won EPT London back in 2006 … 8 years later, she did it again, wining EPT Sanremo just moments ago in what was an intense final few minutes as the final hand of the tournament played out and Coren defeated former WPT Mazagan Champion Giacomo Fundaro (GPI#85) heads-up for the title.

With so many elite winners on the EPT, the fact that Coren Mitchell is the first one to win twice certainly into legendary status.

SCHEMION WINS HIGH ROLLER

Ole Schemion GPIThe kid just doesn’t lose! Former World #1 Ole Schemion (GPI#3) does it again … this time winning the High Roller on the final day in Sanremo. The win not only sees him add € 256,000 to his career totals, he also pads his lead atop the EPT Season 10 Player of the Year race – powered by the Global Poker Index.

Schemion defeated Canadian Max Greenwood (GPI#121) heads-up for the title. Like Schemion, Alex Bilokur (GPI#18) could be in line for a push inside the GPI300 standings later this week. Bilokur cashed in the Main Event prior to finishing third here in the High Roller.
