CPPT Foxwoods Final Table Plays

The Card Player Poker Tour stop at Foxwoods in Connecticut began its $1,650 Main Event on February 14. The tournament offered reentries and a $300K guarantee.

A total of 340 entries made up the tournament statistics, which translated into a $494,700 prize pool. Day 2 began with 106 players and thinned toward the money bubble, at which point Mike Vela was eliminated in 37th place. The top 36 players then made the money, including Ryan Eriquezzo, Vinny Pahuja, and Michael Esposito.

Play stopped that night with 13 competitors still in action and Ronnie Pease holding the lead with 1,566,000 chips.

A few quick bustouts on Day 3 led to this unofficial final table, which continued to play on late into the evening:

Chris Tryba (855,000)

Josh Albin (713,000)

Sandness Wins MSPT Running Aces

When the Mid-States Poker Tour stopped in Minnesota at the Running Aces Harness Club, it had an $1,100 NLHE Main Event for players there.

A total of 354 entries were in play for a $355,200 prize pool, and it became the largest field to date for the MSPT.

Day 2 brought 110 players back into action and worked that number down into the money, as Donald Winter exited in 37th place and guaranteed everyone else cash finishes. Players like Mike Schneider headed to the cashier cage before the final table began, and movement was quick from that point on. Mark Sandness then took a chip lead into heads-up play against Blake Bohn and won the tournament.

Day 2 thinned the field from 123 players into the money and down to the final table, led by Vincent Maglio with Ruslan Dykshteyn in second place.

Play moved forward as bustouts brought the action closer to the heads-up match. In the end, it was the two chipleaders who went into battle, with Maglio in the lead to begin it. But Dykshteyn took over and then won the match after only 15 minutes of play.
