EPT Barcelona: Draft David Benefield

Last week in Florida, current November Niner chip leader, J.C. Tran, had a tremendous run at WPT Alpha8 Florida, finishing second in the inaugural event – Tran’s November Nine table-mate is hoping to duplicate that success in Barcelona:

BEWARE OF RAPTOR

David Benefield GPIMany simply call him Raptor. David Benefield (GPI#538) is no stranger to big moments in the poker world. The “part-time” poker pro has had his share of success both live and online so the fact that he is in contention through Day 1 at EPT Barcelona should come as no surprise.

Benefield ended Day 1B play with a Top 60 chip stack for the day. Now it’s not like he’s in a great situation, but with so much experience under his belt, no one would be surprised if he ended up atop the leaderboard following Day 2 play on Tuesday.

It’s also important to note that Benefield finished fifth in the Super High Roller event here in Barcelona, further proof that he should be considered for your team.

PRELUDE TO NOVEMBER

David Benefield GPIWhat a story it would be for the American to enjoy a deep run all the way to a final table here in Barcelona, just two months ahead of the the most important final table of his life.

No matter what happens in Barcelona this week, you can rest assured that Benefield will use whatever experience he accumulates here to his advantage once November comes around.

Benefield can be had at a low-risk 10,000 on the FPM Market. If you can find a way to have a roster spot open for him, he may just be the difference between a good and a great start to your 2013-14 FPM season.
