EPT Barcelona: Keep An Eye On Martin Jacobson

FPM logo

He is an accomplished poker player – both live and online – so it’s shocking to know that Sweden’s #1 player – Martin Jacobson – heads into the EPT Barcelona Main Event still looking for his first major victory on the live tournament circuit.

NOTE: This article has been released prior to the start of the EPT Barcelona Main Event. Be sure to check the end of Day 1 chip counts to confirm that this player has advanced to Day 2 play.

IMPRESSIVE CV

Martin Jacobson GPIWhen you list the names of the best poker players to never win a WSOP, EPT or WPT event, Martin Jacobson’s (GPI#91) should be at or near the top. The 26-year old Swede has had some very close calls on the live circuit, including a trio of runner-up finishes in a 19-month period at WPT Venice, EPT Vilamoura and EPT Deauville.

Does this mean that Jacobson doesn’t have what it takes to contend? Not at all, in fact, Jacobson’s track record includes fine performances in High Roller and Super High Roller events, against some of the best tournament poker players in the world.

READY FOR A BREAKTHROUGH

Martin Jacobson GPIWill this finally be the one event where Jacobson gets to take the proverbial monkey off his back? Why not? Jacobson – who has a total of five Top 10 finishes on the EPT to his credit – is at the top of his game and should be ready to contend.

If Jacobson’s performance at this past summer’s 111K WSOP One Drop High Roller Event – where Jacobson finished sixth for a +800K USD profit – is any indication, Jacobson could be the horse you’re looking to ride to the final table!
