EPT Presenters Stapleton, Garcia Diaz to Host GPI Euro Poker Awards

With the GPI European Poker Awards just weeks away, more details have been released on the 2014 festivities …

PRESENTING THE PRESENTERS

EPT Presenters Gaëlle Garcia Diaz and Joe Stapleton will host the 2014 GPI European Poker Awards. Garcia Diaz is a well-known presenter, model and actress from Belgium while Stapleton certainly needs no introduction even if you’re the most casual of poker fans. “Stapes” has been a part of the poker family for years now and has appeared on televised poker broadcasts around the world.

Whoever would be chosen to host the 2014 GPI European Poker Awards would certainly have big shoes to fill. In 2013, Kara Scott was the hostess with the mostess … not only did she perform her hosting like no other, she was presented with the Poker Personality of the Year Award. No pressure, Gaëlle and Joe!

WE THE JURY

Seven of the eight members of the jury have been revealed … they include:

›› Alexandre Dreyfus, FRA (CEO Global Poker Index, The Hendon Mob)

›› Bruno Fitoussi, FRA (Aviation Club de France, French Poker Legend)

›› Chris Hall, UK (Journalist, PokerNews)

›› Sandra Naujoks, GER (Professional Poker Player, Europe’s “Leading Lady” in 2008 & 2009)

›› Luca Pagano, ITA (Professional Poker Player, Pagano Events)

›› Erik Rosenberg, SWE (Journalist, Poker.se)

The eighth member of the jury is expected to be announced shortly.

The members of the jury will meet prior to the start of the 2014 GPI European Poker Awards – Wednesday, January 29th, 2014 – to determine who will win in the following categories:

Best Tournament Perfomance:

Rookie of the Year:

Internet Player of the Year

European Event of the Year
EPT Barcelona Festival, EPT Grand Final (Monte Carlo), Full Tilt Poker Galway Festival, Prague Poker Festival

The 13th Global Poker Index European Poker Awards will take place on January 29, 2014 at the “Salle des Ambassadeurs” at the Casino de Deauville as part of the EPT Deauville Festival.
