FANTASY FRIDAY: Draft the Brothers Mizrachi for Cyprus!

FPM logoNOTE: This article is being released days before lineups are due for the WPT Merit Cyprus Classic. Be sure to verify this player’s status when lineups are due (start of Day 2).

With the WPT Merit Cyprus Classic now only a week away, we take a Fantasy look at two brothers who should receive your consideration when putting together your WPT Cyprus teams for the first FPM event of the new season!

MIZRACHI CLAN COMING TO CYPRUS

Chino Rheem GPIMichael, Robert, Donny (who will also provide his DJ talents at the Players Party) and Eric, heck you can even include family friend and reigning WPT World Championship winner Chino Rheem (pictured, right) to the group, the whole Mizrachi clan is making their way to Cyprus as we speak!

This isn’t the first time that the Mizrachi crew have been to this event, they were all here last year where Robert finished in 15th position and Chino collected a 22nd place paycheck.

There are only two of the brother available for selection on FPM and we suggest you may want to add both to your lineups for Cyprus:

GRINDER IS BACK FOR MORE

Michael Mizrachi GPISo far, 2013 hasn’t met expectations for Grinder … but it’s hard to consider winning a tournament, collecting seven Top 10 finishes and earning over 225K USD a failure, but Mizrachi’s status on the GPI has been on a downward swing in 2013. He started the year ranked #8 on the GPI and currently sits in 42nd position.

Does this mean Grinder has something to prove? Given his track record, the answer is no. Moreover, Grinder has to be a favourite heading into most of the tournaments he participates in. His style of play will either allow him to have most of the chips early or be out of the running, in other words, if he has chips early, watch out.

With over 20 wins in his career, Grinder should be at the top of your list of prospects for Cyprus:

WHAT ABOUT ROB?

Robert Mizrachi GPIRobert Mizrachi is an accomplished poker player and one must wonder if his accomplishments have been overshadowed by his brother’s … through no fault of Grinder, obviously. But if Rob’s last name was something else that Mizrachi, you have to wonder if people would feel differently about him given his successes on the felt.

Robert won the 10K PLO Championship back in 2007, earning his first and only WSOP bracelet to date. Mizrachi is coming off a fine 44th World Series of Poker where he final tabled the 5K Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better for 126K USD and also added a 14th place finish in a 8-Game Mix event. Mizrachi also two WPT final tables to his credit.

Mizrachi also enjoyed a great start to the 2013 poker season running deep in PCA Main Event. He finished in 12th position good for 95K USD.

At a current FPM Market Price of 10,000, you could be locking up a great player at a reduced rate!
