FANTASY POKER MANAGER: Stars Shine Off the Felt

FPM logoWith most EPT Grand Final events in the books, it’s onto the WPT Championship and what we all wait for all year long, the World Series of Poker.

And, with the Fantasy Poker Manager Facebook App in full swing, it’s become more and more clear that some professional poker players are not only getting the hang of things, they are quickly becoming some of the best FPM Managers in the game today.

Kevin MacPhee FPMTwo of the top players in the world, Kevin MacPhee (GPI#65) and Michael Watson (GPI#2) were the talk of the town collecting first and third place finishes as FPM Managers at the EPT Grand Final High Roller Event.

MacPhee‘s performance has him ranked #2 overall of the FPM Leaderboard, quite an impressive performance by the former EPT Berlin Champion.

And don’t think that MacPhee isn’t working hard for his points.  Earlier this year at EPT London, MacPhee was caught making his picks for the High Roller while at the table, himself participating in the event.  Then, a few weeks ago at the WPT bestbet Open, I was interviewing a poker player (that shall remain nameless ;)) and he showed me text messages received from MacPhee checking in on him to make sure he was ready to Day 2 play in Jacksonville as MacPhee had him on his FPM team – now that’s commitment!

Mike Watson FPMFor Watson, it was yet another close call.  Not only did he finish third in this event, he finished fifth in the WPT Canadian Spring Championship FPM event near Montreal a few days earlier.  Watson held the lead late in the event but was surpassed by FPM Managers who were able to score FPM Points with their Final Table predictions.

Watson now sits 28th in the Fantasy Poker Manager Overall Standings.

A tip of the cap to poker twitter pro Boyan Demortier who found time between his studies and his twitter posts to field the second best team in the event.

2012 WPT L.A. Poker Classic Champ Sean Jazayeri (GPI#417) and former EPT Dortmund winner Andreas Hoivold (GPI#4806) finished third and fourth respectively in the Main Event at the EPT Grand Final.  Jazayeri’s score allows him to move up to 22nd position overall on the FPM Leaderboard.

We should also point out the strong season so far from Polish Team PokerStars Pro member Marcin Horecki (GPI#1541) who currently sits 3rd overall on the FPM Leaderboard, just a few points behind MacPhee.  Most recently, Horecki’s FPM team enjoyed a third place finish at the WPT Canadian Spring Championship.

The stars are shining off the felt, best of luck to all of them on the felt (live and virtual) in the coming weeks!

Head on over to Facebook and signup to play the GPI Fantasy Poker Manager … lineups for the WPT World Championship lock later this week!  FPM is the official Fantasy game of the World Poker Tour and the World Series of Poker!
