FPM EPT Grand Final: Fantasy Hi-Five
There is no rest for successful Fantasy Poker Managers! Hours after analyzing want went right and what went wrong with your WPT World Championship Fantasy selections, FPM’ers are back on the grind, determining who deserves a spot on their rosters for the EPT Grand Final … here are five suggestions:
SIMON DEADMAN
Rising star Simon Deadman (GPI#160) is the first on our list of five. Deadman has enjoyed a great start to his 2014 poker campaign, collecting eight cashes so far this season, half of them (total 4) runner-up finishes including a 2nd place finish in the France Poker Series High Roller event at EPT Deauville in February.
Deadman ended Day 1A play with 115,000 chips
Oioi day 2 with 115k!
TOM MIDDLETON
Last week, Victoria Coren Mitchell (GPI#644) became the very first player in history to win twice on the European Poker Tour … but no one has ever won twice in the same year, right?
We’re hoping Tom Middelton (GPI#513) leads us to glory here in Monte Carlo. Middleton won the very first event of Season 10 back in August at EPT Barcelona. So why not make it a Season 10 double?
Middleton ended Day 1A play with 124,000 chips
SOTIRIOS KOUTOUPAS
Notice a pattern here? We’re adding a second Season 10 Champion to our team, hoping there is still some run-good left for Monte Carlo!
After a runner-up finish at EPT Prague back in 2012, Sotirios Koutoupas (GPI#215) was finally able to seal the deal at EPT Deauville earlier this season, preventing Eugene Katchalov (GPI#24) from completing poker’s Triple Crown.
Now ranked #1 on the GPI National Greece leaderboard, Koutoupas, who spends his days helping run the family business, may be spending a little more time on the live felt in the coming months if this hot streak continues.
Koutoupas ended Day 1A play with 102,300 chips
ELIO FOX
A few years removed from his big victory in the WSOP Europe Main Event, Elio Fox (GPI#606) remains a very successful online poker player. Fox defeated online legend and recent WPT L.A. Poker Classic winner Chris Moorman (GPI#102) for the bracelet.
He may not have a ton of results on the live tournament circuit since, but he remains a very dangerous player, and he enters Day 2 play with a very nice chip stack.
Fox ended Day 1A play with 99,700 chips
ANATOLY FILATOV
March GPI Player of the Month runner-up Anatoly Filatov (GPI#303) is the last player to make our list. Filatov enjoyed great success at EPT Vienna and we’re hoping for more here in Monte Carlo.
The former GPI300 member is only three spots away from re-entering the elite group on the GPI.
Filatov is currently involved in Day 1B play, things seem to be going well so far as he holds 66,000 chips as of press time.
