FPM Five Diamond: Five Players For Your Consideration

FPM logoOne day after crowning a new champion at partypoker WPT Montreal, the World Poker Tour travels to Las Vegas for the presentation of the WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic at the famed Bellagio Las Vegas.

A reminder that contrary to what we have been used to in most events, this tournament plays a single Day 1 meaning that you’ll only have a few hours of play before making your selections! With this, we offer five players for your consideration:

ANTONIO ESFANDIARI

Antonio Esfandiari GPIWhat are the chances that Antonio Esfandiari (GPI#37) cashes at the Five Diamond? It’s as close to a sure that there is in the poker world.

Esfandiari has cashed in five straight WPT Five Diamond events … FIVE STRAIGHT! But wait, they’re more! The past three seasons? The Magician has final tabled the WPT event … you heard right, Antonio Esfandiari is gunning for his sixth straight cash and fourth final table at the WPT Five Diamond – amazing stats!

Do it!

BYRON KAVERMAN

Byron Kaverman GPILike Esfandiari, Byron Kaverman (GPI#28) also carries a hot stat coming into the WPT Five Diamond!

Fantasy Poker Managers who have had Kaverman in their lineups since the WPT Grand Prix de Paris have seen their player score FPM points in FOUR straight events. You’re reading this correctly, points in Paris, Jacksonville, St. Marteen and most recently Montreal for the young American.

Will Kaverman make it five for five? Add him to your squad and find out!

JAMES CARROLL

James Carroll GPIAt first blush, you wouldn’t think it would be prudent to add a player who doesn’t rank inside the GPI1000, but don’t kind yourselves, former HPT Las Vegas Champion James Carroll (GPI#1037) is exactly the type of player that could make you look like a genius once final results for the Five Diamond are posted next week.

Carroll has spent a large part of his time in Mexico playing online – and he’s been very successful doing so. He’s accumulated over 2.8M USD in tournament earnings on the virtual felt, according to our friends at PocketFives.

GALEN HALL

Galen Hall GPIFormer PCA Champ Galen Hall (GPI#527) would be much higher on the GPI charts if he played more tournaments. Hall has recently completed school so you may very well see him more often on the live circuit in the coming months.

There is no doubting Hall’s skill level and he seems to be very comfortable playing at Bellagio. Picking Hall up at such a low FPM Market Value should translate to great value for you and your Fantasy Poker Manager team.

RICHARD LYNDAKER

Richard Lyndaker GPIAdding a recent winner on the circuit to your squad is never, ever a bad thing.

Just a few weeks ago, Richard Lyndaker (GPI#328) was the King of Vegas after winning the Heartland Poker Tour event at the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel and Tower, joining Carroll as the two HPT winners on our list.

Lyndaker’s 2013 season also includes a sixth place finish in the 25K Six-Handed event at the 44th World Series of Poker.
