FPM WPT Championship: Fantasy Hi-Five

FPM logoThe time is here. The WPT World Championship is upon us. It’s the last time this season you’ll be able to become the best Fantasy Poker Manager for a World Poker Tour event. The big names have landed in Atlantic City, we take a look at five that could be solid additions to your squads for the WPT World Championship:

SCOTT SEIVER

Scott Seiver GPIMy propensity to add a former event Champ to my team continues at the WPT World Championship with the inclusion of Scott Seiver (GPI#16) to the team. Seiver, who was GPI Player of the Month back in February, earned the honour after a pair of Top 7 finishes in the Main Event and in the 25K Challenge at the Aussie Millions.

More recently, Seiver earned a fourth place finish at the Bellagio High Roller IV last month in Las Vegas.

Seiver ended Day 1A play with 192,500 chips

ANTHONY GREGG

Anthony Gregg GPILet’s add a second WPT Champions Club member to our team, shall we? Tony Gregg (GPI#351) is widely recognized by his peers as one of the game’s best. What keeps Gregg away from being ranked amongst the top players in the world is the fact that he doesn’t play a ton of tournaments. But when he does, he plays them well!

Other than his WPT Parx victory last year, Gregg won a WSOP bracelet last summer in Las Vegas. He won over 4.8M USD in the One Drop High Roller event.

Gregg ended Day 1A play with 190,600 chips

MIKE LEAH

Mike Leah GPIHe’s been one of the hottest players on tour to start the 2014 poker season so he’s got a spot on my team! Adding Mike Leah (GPI#113) almost guarantees you’ll be adding some valuable points somewhere down the road at the WPT World Championship.

Leah has added nine cashes so far in 2014, including winning a pair of events at the WSOP Circuit Los Angeles tour stop … in LESS THAN 24 HOURS! Leah has two other wins this year, in a 5K NLH Turbo event at the 2014 PCA and a 1K prelim event victory at the WPT Fallsview Poker Classic.

Leah ended Day 1A play with 91,500 chips

PHIL HELLMUTH

Phil Hellmuth GPIHe’s come oh so close but has never been able to close the deal. Is this finally the time that Phil Hellmuth (GPI#292) gets things done on the World Poker Tour? The Brat better hope so because he may very well find his way outside the GPI300 for the first time of his career in the coming weeks.

Besides, he has chips following Day 1A play plus he’s a fun sweat, so, having him on your team seems like a fun proposition, doesn’t it? … doesn’t it?

Hellmuth ended Day 1A play with 82,900 chips

RONIT CHAMANI

Although most eyes on the World Poker Tour have been set on Mukul Pahuja (GPI#20) and his amazing run, Ronit Chamani (GPI#165) has also enjoyed a great run on the WPT.

Starting with the WPT Emperors Classic last November, Chamani has earned WPT Main Event cashes at the WPT Borgata Winter Open, the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open, the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star and the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown … add to that a side-event victory at the Shooting Star and a runner-up finish in a side event at the L.A. Poker Classic, and you’re got yourself a player that’s running hot!

Chamani is currently involved in Day 1B play, things seem to be going well so far as she has 98,000 chips as of press time.
