FPM WPTSA: Five Players for Your Consideration
The eye of the poker world shits to South Africa as the WPT Emperors Palace Poker Classic kicked off on Thursday. Day 1B play is currently underway in Johannesburg, we submit a list of five players deserving your consideration for your FPM rosters:
GAELLE BAUMANN
France’s Gaëlle Baumann (GPI#989) ended Day 1A play with one of the top chip stacks. Baumann, who created quite the buzz in the poker world when she was contending for a spot in the October Nine in 2012, seems to be in great shape heading into Day 2 play and her friendly FPM Market Price should allow you to add her to your squad without any issues.
End day 1A #WPTSA 85k, avg 47k reprise samedi 13h, 300/600

MELANIE WEISNER
Like Baumann, fellow pro Melanie Weisner (GPI#327) is also in great shape heading int Day 2 play on Saturday. Weisner recently dropped out of the GPI300 – a good showing at the Emperors Palace Hotel Casino in Johannesburg could be exactly what she needs to return to the elite group.
Ended day 1 of #WPTSA main with close to 70k. A day off to tour Johannesburg tomorrow and resume on Saturday

ANA MARQUEZ
If you listened to our latest episode of the PokerNews GPI Podcast, you already know that I had high hopes for Ana Marquez (GPI#84) and the fact that she ended Day 1A with an above-average stack and I’m sold!
Marquez will be added to my team. She has quietly put together a solid 2013 campaign and with a few months left to the season, she can still add to those already impressive totals with a deep run here in South Africa.
THOMAS KORAL
Coming off a win at the DeepStacks Poker Tour Oregon State Poker Championships, Thomas Koral (GPI#571) can be a great addition for your WPTSA FPM club … Koral, like Baumann, could be a very cost-effective addition to your lineup.
Koral will start Day 2 play with a below-standard chip stack at just over 34K but he’s the type of the player that could very well run it up quickly.
Played the wpt SA main event after I busted the 6 max, I busted my first buy in then finished the day with 35k, avg chips 45ish

RUPERT ELDER
There’s still plenty of time left in Day 1B play and while our other four pics are all players who competed during Day 1A, we’re be keeping a close eye on Rupert Elder (GPI#441) as Friday’s action continues.
Elder has enjoyed quite a bit of success on the live tournament circuit, grabbing him at a premium can only add to the reasons why Rupert should be considered for your squad.
