GPI 300 Update: Sands, O’Dwyer, Salsberg Make Their Moves

Doc SandsAll is well at the top of the GPI 300 as Marvin Rettenmaier (GPI#1 -), Michael Watson (GPI#2 -), Philipp Gruissem (GPI#3 -) and Bryn Kenney (GPI#4 -) remain in the first four positions.

Team PokerStars Pros Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier (GPI#5 +1) and Jason Mercier (GPI#6 +1) both move up a spot inside the Top 10 as David “Doc” Sands (GPI#7 +3) (pictured, left) and Stephen O’Dwyer (GPI#8 +4) both make the biggest moves inside the Top 10.

Although he’s not in the Top 20 just yet, Matt Salsberg (GPI#26 +9)as he continues to dominate the World Poker Tour this season.  Salsberg posted a 10th place finish last week at the WPT bestbet Open in Jacksonville, Florida further extending his lead atop the WPT Season XI standings.

David DiazThe biggest increases of the week also came from the WPT bestbet Open as eventual winner Michael Linster (GPI#225 +199) and sixth place finisher David Diaz (GPI#249 +171) (pictured, right) both took advantage of their successes in Jacksonville.

A tip of the cap to Adam Levy (GPI#211 +141), recent WSOP APAC bracelet winner James Collopy (GPI#230 +101) and “Special Agent” Franck Kalfon (GPI#268 +70) who also had big jumps in this week’s standings.

Jean-Philippe Rohr, Nam Le, Torsten Brinkmann and Yosuke Sekiya also joined the GPI 300 this week while Aku Joentausta, Amit Makhija, Benjamin Pollak, Chady Ojeil, Dan Murariu, Daniel Idema, Owen Crowe, Pieter de Korver and Talal Shakerchi all exit the GPI 300 this time around.

Expect results from the WPT Canadian Spring Championship near Montreal and partial results from the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo to surface in next week’s rankings … with big names running deep in each series, expect some changes in the GPI 300 as we edge closer to the end of the WPT and the EPT seasons.
