GPI First Look: EPT Prague

The European Poker Tour wraps-up the 2013 portion of its schedule with a visit to picturesque Prague:

IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS

Daniel Negreanu GPIOnce the WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond Poker Classic final table wraps-up later tonight in Las Vegas, every single eye in the poker world will turn its attention to Prague in the Czech Republic as the final major tournaments of the year could very well play a significant role in determining who will end the 2013 season atop the GPI300 and the GPI Player of the Year Leaderboards … there are also plenty of implications in the GPI National Player of the Year races.

Marvin Rettenmaier GPIIt was an opportunity missed for both Daniel Negreanu (GPI#1) and Marvin Rettenmaier (GPI#3) over the weekend at the WPT Five Diamond. Neither contender was able to cash in the event that drew close to 500 players. Both Negreanu and Rettenmaier now set their sights on Prague to close the season in style. The duo will be joined by Philipp Gruissem, Ole Schemion, Shannon Shorr, Jonathan Duhamel and others as WAY more than pride will be on the line as the Hilton Hotel is set to host the EPT Main Event starting on Thursday.

PLAY IS UNDERWAY

Stephen Chidwick GPIPlay is already underway at the EPT Prague Festival as the Eureka Poker Tour Main Event drew monster numbers – 1,315 players – and creating a huge € 1,275,550 prize pool. Play is still ongoing as Stephen Chidwick and Marcin Horecki are 15 of the remaining players vying for the € 226,400 top prize. The Eureka final table is set for Thursday.

The Eureka High Roller event is also currently on the go as 430 players entered that event … the 5K PLO Championship is about to set its final table as well.

Main Event play begins with Day 1A Thursday – where Swedish star Ramzi Jelassi will be looking to defend his title!
