GPI First Look: WPT Alpha8 Saint Kitts

Renowned businessman, philanthropist and high stakes poker player Bill Perkins is welcoming fellow nosebleed stakes player to his second home on the island of Saint Kitts in the Caribbean:

PHILBORT GOES FOR TWO IN A ROW

Philipp Gruissem GPIWPT Alpha8 London Champion Philipp Gruissem (GPI#4) is in Saint Kitts and will be there ready to hopefully make it two Alpha8’s in a row and keep the momentum going.

The German superstar actually fell on hard times inside the GPI300 for a few weeks in October when he dropped out of the Top 10 for the first time since February. His stock fell as low as #16 … but things are back to normal now as he’s moved back up to #4 on the 300.

WORLD CHAMP ON HIS WAY

Jonathan Duhamel GPIOur list of expected players is currently at 12 but we’re hearing that a bunch of others could very well be planning on making their way to the island in what has the chance to be the most attended WPT Alpha8 event since the kickoff event in August.

One of those big names scheduled to buy-in on Saturday includes 2010 WSOP World Champion Jonathan Duhamel (GPI#9) who made a return to the GPI300 Top 10 earlier this week for the first time since July 2012.

Duhamel is set to make his WPT Alpha8 debut on Saturday.

Jason Koon GPIOther expected players include: Jason Koon, Igor Kurganov, Timothy Adams, Jeff Gross, Mike McDonald, Tobias Reinkemeier, Isaac Haxton and Paul Newey.

Important to note that an event must include a minimum of 21 players in order to qualify for GPI points distribution. Should the event qualify, the buy-in would be capped at $25,000 … find out more about how the GPI works ›› HERE!

Cards are in the starting at Noon Atlantic Time on Saturday – you can follow WPT.com live updates blog for all the action!
