GPI Tournament Report: WPT Rolling Thunder, LAPT, Eureka, ANZPT, WSOPC + More

We take you to California, Chile, Vienna, Sydney, Cincinnati, Maryland, Los Angeles, Mississippi, Connecticut and Wisconsin in this week’s GPI Tournament Report:

WPT ROLLING THUNDER

JC Tran GPIMake it two wins on the World Poker Tour for star circuit veteran JC Tran (GPI#331), who won WPT Rolling Thunder right outside his hometown of Sacramento, California.

Tran, who was part of the latest WSOP November Nine, first won on the WPT in 2007 at the World Poker Challenge in Reno, Nevada.

Benjamin Zamani (GPI#280), one of the newest members of the GPI300, final tabled the event. Zamani has three Top 10 finishes on the live circuit so far this season.

LAPT CHILE

LAPT logoMario Lopez Rita (GPI#11215) won his very first tournament on the live circuit this weekend, besting over 600 opponents to win the LAPT Chile Main Event, the first event on the 2014 poker calendar on the Latin America Poker Tour.

EUREKA VIENNA

Eureka Poker Tour logoZoltan Gal (GPI#2480) won Eureka Poker Tour Vienna over the weekend. Over 1,400 players entered the event; the Hungarian picked up the biggest cash of his career on the live tournament circuit with the victory.

Accomplished online tournament pro Bryan Paris (GPI#5056) finished 4th in the event.

ANZPT SYDNEY

ANZPT logoThe first ever cash on the live tournament circuit will certainly be one to remember for Aussie amateur Joshua Redhouse (GPI#-), who collected the $123,500 AUD top prize at ANZPT Sydney.

Fellow Aussies Oliver Gill (GPI#1461) and Milan Gurung (GPI#1675) also final tabled the event.

QUEEN CITY CLASSIC

Keven Stammen GPINick Guagenti (GPI#1018) earned the first six-figure score of his career on the live tournament circuit winning the Queen City Classic, presented at the Horseshoe Casino in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Guagenti defeated Keven Stammen (GPI#44) heads-up for the win. Stammen, who has been one of the hottest players on tour in the past few weeks, is projected to take over the 2014 GPI Player of the Year race shortly.
