GPI Update: Action at APT Macau, IPT San Remo and Florida Kick Start Post WSOP Poker

Top Twenty Mostly Hold Steady

The Top Twenty was largely unchanged this week. No players posted new results and most were untouched by aging.  Jonathan Duhamel, however, is the exception. His win in the 2011 EPT Deauville €10,000 NLHE High Roller ages into Period 4 this week causing him to have a net loss of 114 points. Because of the tightness of scores in the Top Twenty that drops him 6 spots to GPI#15 and out of the Top Ten.

GPI Top 300 Players Final Table the Florida State Poker Championship Main Event

Four GPI Top 300 players made the final table of the $5,300 Florida State Poker Championship NLHE Main Event. The 3rd place finisher, Hans Winzeler, has the largest jump in rank and the largest score gain this week. He earned 281 points for his success in the event and moves up 105 spots to his highest rank to date at GPI#147. Tommy Vedes finished fourth and also reaches his highest rank, just outside of the Top Twenty at GPI#22. Darryll Fish (GPI#93 +15) and Micah Raskin (GPI#113 +45) came in 6th and 7th respectively.

One other GPI Top 300 player, Andrea Dato, sat at a Main Event final table this week. At the IPT San Remo NLHE Main Event Dato finished 5th and moves up 9 spots to GPI#64.

Nam Thien Le Makes His GPI 300 Debut

Nam Thien Le built up a lot of GPI points during a very successful WSOP but didn’t have enough to break into the Top 300. That changed this week after he won the HK$95,000 APT – Asian Series NLHE High Roller in Macau. His win was good for 288 points and lands him at GPI#246. Also debuting in the GPI 300 this week is Fred Goldberg.  Goldberg finished 17th in the Florida State Poker Championship NLHE Main Event and makes his debut at GPI#272.

Some Big Names Return to the GPI 300

Andrey Gulyy (GPI#297), Viktor Blom (GPI#298), Eric Baldwin (GPI#299), and Mike Sexton (GPI#300) all make their return to the Index this week thanks to aging of prior results.

Out of the GPI Top 300

Falling out of the Top 300 this week are Ondrej Vinklarek, Yorane Kerignard, Ruben Visser, Marc Inizan, Matthias De Meulder, and Marko Neumann.
