James Woods Update and Grosvenor 25/25 Result

Woods’ WSOP Scare

James Woods, the Hollywood star who also enjoys a spot of poker now and again, recently had a health scare at the WSOP.

According to various reports the American actor fell to the floor earlier today during one of the daily tournaments inside the Rio.

Medical staff were quickly called the scene to attend to Woods and after supplying him with some oxygen he was taken to the Emergency Room off the Vegas strip.

Although there were initial fears that Woods was in a critical condition, the incident seems to have been a minor scare as Woods was soon able to tweet that he was ok “thanks to the great Rio Hotel staff“.

Later on Woods took to the world of social media again to confirm that doctors have suggested the problem may have been caused by a bout of sudden food poisoning and the “onset of virulent symptoms“.

Math Teacher Banks Grosvenor Title

Math teachers and all-round femme fatale at the poker table, Ellie Biessek, became the latest Grosvenor 25/25 winner after an impressive performance in Luton.

Despite plying her trade as a maths teacher during the week, Ellie was able to come into her own last weekend after cutting her way through a 187 runners in the £220 Main Event.

At the start of the final table Martyn Tawn led the way with 505,000 chips but as the action got underway and the likes of Jonathan Blissett the former chip leader began to slip.

Indeed, after just a few orbits Tawn found himself on the ropes and out of chips after his pocket jacks ran into the pocket queens of Andrew Christos.

At this point Ellie was able to begin her ascent to the top of the table and as more players fell her bargaining power increased.

By the time Vikrum Mehta stood as the lone obstacle in Ellie’s way she was able to lock up £9,025 before ousting him with pocket tens.

Following the victory a delighted Ellie stood smiling after yet another impressive performance on the UK’s domestic circuit.
