Mike Sica Dies, Philly Charity Event Planned for 7-Year-Old

Mike “Little Man” Sica Dies of Cancer

Mike Sica, known to the poker world as “Little Man,” passed away on Wednesday, November 13 from cancer, with which he was diagnosed earlier this year.

Judging from the plethora of Twitter and Facebook messages about Sica, he was very well-liked and respected in the world of poker and beyond.

Among his first recorded poker tournament cashes in 2004 was a World Series of Poker bracelet, which he won in a $3,000 NLHE tournament, along with more than $503K. He continued to play over the next decade, winning events like the Bellagio Weekly, an event at the Trump Classic, Wynn Casino, and Gold Strike Poker Open. He played tournaments around the United States, with his last events recorded at the time of his cancer diagnosis in April 2013.

December Poker Tournament to Benefit 7-Year-Old Boy

The “All In for Weston” charity poker tournament has been scheduled for December 10 at Chickie’s and Pete’s Crab House and Sports Bar in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The tournament will offer a $175 buy-in with free food and part of the buy-in going to Weston Keeton.

Keeton is seven years old and currently awaiting a heart and double-lung transplant at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, according to PokerNews. The young boy was diagnosed with aortic and mitral stenosis, as well as an abnormal left ventrical and has suffered since birth. While the family lives in Tennessee, the best treatment is in Philadelphia, and they are in dire need of help with bills and medical bills.

There will also be a Chinese auction and silent auction at the event to raise extra money.
