NBC National Heads Up Poker Championship Quarter Finals

The NBC National Heads Up Poker Championship 2013 has now reached the quarter finals. Last night saw two rounds played, and the least that can be said is that the battles were  endless.

In the second round, we lost big names such as Jonathan Duhamel, Shaun Deeb, or even Kyle Julius. Online legend Viktor Blom was also eliminated, as well as Justin Bonomo.
in the Hearts and Diamonds pools, Phil Galfond couldn’t resits to Eugene Katchalov, and Chris Moneymaker fought well but fell on a very good David Sands. Gaelle Baumann had a tough mission against the GPI#1, and also saw her tournament ending.

In the 3rd round, with battles opposing Antonio Esfandiari to Daniel Cates, Vanessa Rousso to Scott Seiver, Mike Matusow to Barry Greenstein, John Hennigan to Phil Ivey, Joseph Cheong to Eugene Katchalov, Phil Hellmuth to David Sands, Tom Dwan to Brian Hastings, and Joseph Serock to Dan Smith.

Here are the results and the players advancing to the quarter finals.

The best ranked player left is Phil Hellmuth, GPI#13. Although he will have a tough mission playing against Eugene Katchalov (GPI#20) the second best ranked player in this field.
