Poker Masters Purple Jacket Winner James Collopy is GPI’s September Player of the Month
LAS VEGAS, October 10th, 2024—The Global Poker Index (GPI) announces Washington, DC’s James Collopy is the GPI Player of the Month for September 2024. James got off to a hot start in Barcelona during the European Poker Tour (EPT) and capped off the month by topping the leaderboard at the PokerGO Tour’s Poker Masters in Las Vegas. Podium finishes in five events totalled 1,216.02 points beating fellow GPI Player of the Year contender David Coleman by over 100 points.
James (GPI #19 / PoY #8) earned $831,125 from seven results in September, surpassing the $9 million career live tournament earnings milestone ($9,724,442). He extended his lead as the all-time money leader from the District of Columbia, jumped to 71st place in the USA all-time money list, and is inside the top 150 worldwide.
Without picking up a win, James’ September on the felt was as good as it gets. In the seven results he scored points in, his worst finish was 14th out of 188 entries in an EPT Barcelona Pot Limit Omaha event. His next worse was 6th of 94 in Event #3 at the Poker Masters. The other five were all 3rd place or better including Event #4 (3rd/81), Event #5 (2nd/75), and Event #6 (2nd/84) at the Poker Masters. Those four cashes were enough to secure the Poker Masters Purple Jacket prize.

TOP 10 – SEPTEMBER 2024
September PoM runner-up David Coleman (GPI #4 / PoY #2) also picked up four results at the Poker Masters but it was his first result of the month that gave him the boost, finishing 4th in the EPT Barcelona Main Event (486.55 points). That was David’s best result of 2024 and leaves him just seven points behind GPI PoY leader Adrian Mateos.
It was a busy month on the felt for Thomas Eychenne (GPI #455 / PoY #514) as he notched 10 results, including a runner-up finish in an EPT Barca $10k side event and several deep runs at WSOP Europe in Rozvadov.
Jeremy Becker (GPI #125 / PoY #45), Isaac Haxton (GPI #12 / PoY #14), and Brock Wilson (GPI #21 / PoY #9) all used PGT Poker Masters wins to secure their spot on the list. Aram Zobian (GPI #61 / PoY #24) and Nicholas Seward (GPI #116 / PoY #40) also found success at the Poker Masters bagging multiple top 10s. Kharlin Sued (GPI #131 / PoY #113) had four Top 4 finishes at the Borgata Poker Open and the 2022 GPI National France PoY Julien Sitbon (GPI #82 / PoY #104) rounded out the list with cashes in Barcelona and the Winamax Poker Open in Bratislava.
