“Poker Will Never Be The Same, It Will Be Better”

A lot has happened since my last blog post, most notably, after 12 months of hard work, the Global Poker Index announced that it would determine the European Poker Tour (EPT) Player of the Year for Season 10. The GPI also introduced a new bi-weekly Podcast in conjunction with PokerNews where we will discuss all of the movers and shakers inside the Global Poker Index as well as give tips and suggestions on upcoming Fantasy Poker Manager tournaments.

POKERLISTINGS INTERVIEW

Alex Dreyfus GPII was happy to talk to Arthur Crowson of PokerListings for an interview recently. We discussed, amongst other things, the Global Poker Index and its place in the poker world, the state of the game, the fact in poker, like so many other industries, there are cycles.

We also chatted about the GPI’s acquisition of TheHendonMob.com (THM) and our latest agreement with PokerStars to rank the best players on the European Poker Tour to determine the EPT10 Player of the Year.

Finally, I give my take on the US online poker scene and how we need to bring new players into the US market and educate these players.

CALVINAYRE.COM ARTICLE

Lee Davy included mentioned GPI in an interesting article for CalvinAyre.com discussing PokerStars and its crossing over into the “mainstream”. It’s a smart article that takes a look at why poker crossing over into the mainstream can work and how the Global Poker Index can help turn this into reality.

Davy speaks to Rafael Nadal’s involvement with PokerStars and how many celebrities want to be involved with the world of poker. It’s a very good read, I hope you have a look:

These are certainly exciting times for myself and my team – can’t wait to share with you other projects we have on the go!
