TOP 10: Most WSOP Bracelets Won

We’re counting down the days to the 45th World Series of Poker with a look at the players who have won the most bracelets in WSOP history…

NEGREANU, CLOUTIER, HEIMOWITZ, FLACK – 6 BRACELETS

Four players have each collected a total of six WSOP bracelets. That list includes poker superstar Daniel Negreanu, who’s fifth and sixth bracelets were won during the 2013 poker season. Negreanu first collected bracelet #5 winning the Main Event at WSOP APAC in Melbourne, Australia. Negreanu would add #6 near Paris, winning the WSOP Europe High Roller event in Enghien-les-Bains.

Negrenau: 6 bracelets, 69 WSOP “In the Money”, $6,095,975 in WSOP winnings
Cloutier: 6 bracelets, 60 WSOP “In the Money”, $4,362,048 in WSOP winnings
Heimowitz: 6 bracelets, 39 WSOP “In the Money”, $1,517,039 in WSOP winnings
Flack: 6 bracelets, 37 WSOP “In the Money”, $2,624,798 in WSOP winnings

#8 BILLY BAXTER – 7 BRACELETS

It is certainly not a stretch to call Billy Baxter the best No-Limit Deuce to Seven Lowball player of all-time; six of Baxter’s seven WSOP bracelets have come in that discipline. The other bracelet? A Razz event! Five of Baxter’s bracelet victories came in a 12-year stretch between 1975 and 1987.

Baxter: 7 bracelets, 30 WSOP “In the Money”, $1,080,393 in WSOP winnings

#7 MEN NGUYEN – 7 BRACELETS

Men “The Master” Nguyen has also collected seven bracelets in his career. Like Baxter, Nguyen’s bracelet victories have come in events other than NLH … he has twice won two bracelets in the same WSOP (1993, 2005).

Nguyen: 7 bracelets, 79 WSOP “In the Money”, $3,165,159 in WSOP winnings

#6 ERIK SEIDEL – 8 BRACELETS

Having stood the test of time, Erik Seidel remains one of the most dangerous pros in any poker tournament. Seidel came very close to adding bracelet #9 in the fall where he was runner-up to famous French pro Roger Hairabedian in the 2K NLH event at WSOP Europe.

Seidel: 8 bracelets, 81 WSOP “In the Money”, $4,853,661 in WSOP winnings

#5 JOHNNY MOSS – 9 BRACELETS

The only player to not total at least $1,000,000 in WSOP winnings on our list, legendary poker player Johnny Moss certainly played in a different era in poker. The three-time WSOP Main Event Champion and Hall of Fame member last won a bracelet in 1988; Moss would win the Limit Ace to Five Draw event that year.

Moss: 9 bracelets, 27 WSOP “In the Money”, $834,422 in WSOP winnings

#4 PHIL IVEY – 9 BRACELETS

Many believe that Phil Ivey is the only player that could reach the #1 spot in the coming years. Known as one of the most feared players in the game, even most of his peers believe that Ivey is the best player in the game. This year could very well be the last time that Ivey plays a full WSOP schedule – it will certainly be interesting to see if he can add to his bracelet total.

Ivey: 9 bracelets, 52 WSOP “In the Money”, $5,961,012 in WSOP winnings

#3 DOYLE BRUNSON – 10 BRACELETS

Texas Dolly! Doyle Brunson could very well be the most well known poker player in history. His WSOP career spans 37 years and although he doesn’t play many tournaments these days, you can bet there is a buzz inside the room when Doyle is running deep. Incredibly, Brunson’s first six WSOP cashes were all victories, including his back-to-back Main Event wins in 1976 and 1977. It took 18 events before Doyle cashed outside the Top 10!

Brunson: 10 bracelets, 36 WSOP “In the Money”, $2,994,116 in WSOP winnings

#2 JOHNNY CHAN – 10 BRACELETS

Johnny Chan, the Master. The man made famous by this role in the popular movie Rounders – starring Matt Damon and Edward Norton – was a poker legend way before Hollywood came a-calling! Like Texas Dolly, Chan won back-to-back WSOP Main Event titles in 1987 and 1988 … and was runner-up to the title in 1989! There is no denying that, for a two-year stretch, Chan was the best tournament poker player on the planet.

Chan: 10 bracelets, 45 WSOP “In the Money”, $4,355,464 in WSOP winnings

#1 PHIL HELLMUTH – 13 BRACELETS

The Brat leads the pack! Rumours of Phil Hellmuth’s demise were certainly exaggerated as the Brat, after a longer than usual drought, added bracelets #12 and #13 in 2012. The 1989 WSOP Main Event Champion loves the WSOP limelight and should always be considered a threat … especially since he added his first non-NLH bracelet victory in Seven-Card Razz at the 43rd World Series of Poker. Hellmuth is the first player in WSOP history to earn 100 cashes.

Hellmuth: 13 bracelets, 100 WSOP “In the Money”, $12,273,964 in WSOP winnings
